On October 23, 2012 at 5:39 p.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a report of structure fire at 1289 S. Mayfair Avenue in Daly City.
The first arriving fire company reported a working fire with smoke and flames coming from an upstairs window of the two-story single family residence. Fire companies made entry into the home and using hose lines extinguished the fire. There were no residents home at the time and the fire was contained to a bedroom with extensive smoke damage throughout the home. There were no injuries to fire personnel, and crews remained on scene for several hours checking for further extension of the fire and completing overhaul.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fire Prevention Bureau and the North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in their home.
