Structure Fire in Pacifica

On May 26, 2018 at 11:54 a.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at 1219 Aspen Drive in the City of Pacifica.

The first arriving fire company found smoke coming from the front of a single story, split level, single family home.  Firefighters entered the home and using hose lines were able to contain the fire to the front living room area, with smoke damage throughout the rest of the home.

An adult resident of the home, in attempting to extinguish the fire before firefighters arrived, suffered smoke inhalation and minor burns. The resident was treated by firefighter paramedics at the scene and transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

Fire companies remained on scene for 2 hours checking for fire extension, completing overhaul and mop up operations. There were no injuries to any of the firefighters or residents.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Bureau.

The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in their homes.
