Structure Fire in Pacifica

On July 20, 2017 at 4:43 p.m.., 5 Fire Companies, 3 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at 161 Pacific Ave.  in the City of Pacifica.

The first arriving fire company found a 1-story, single family home with heavy smoke coming from various.  openings in the structure.  Fire companies made entry through the front entry of the home  and used hose lines to contain the fire limiting severe fire damage to the closet near the center of the structure. There was heavy smoke damage to the remainder of the interior.

Fire companies remained on scene for over two hours checking for fire extension, completing overhaul and mop up operations. 2 residents were displaced by the fire, but received housing assistance through the American Red Cross. There were no injuries to any of the firefighters.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Bureau.

The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke alarms in their homes.
