Commercial Business Structure Fire in Daly City

On December 12, 2016 at 9:45 a.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a commercial business structure fire at the Panda Express Restaurant, 701 Westlake Center in the City of Daly City.

The first arriving fire company found a 1-story commercial business with smoke and flames coming from the inside back of the restaurant and the roof. Fire companies made an aggressive fire attack inside the restaurant and above on the roof, using hose lines and ladders to access the roof. Firefighters were successful in containing and controlling the fire to the kitchen area and roof, as well did not allow the fire to extend to other buildings.

Restaurant occupants and employees self-evacuated prior to arrival of fire companies. Fire companies remained on scene for over an hour checking for fire extension, as well as  completing salvage and overhaul operations. There were no injuries to any of the firefighters, customers or employees.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Authority Fire Prevention Services Bureau.
