Structure Fire in Daly City

On November 4, 2016 at 12:54 a.m., 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a structure fire at 20 Marshall Way in the City of Daly City.

The first arriving fire company found a 2-story, single family home with smoke coming from the roof and front dining room windows.  Fire companies made entry into the home and found flames coming from the living area and also penetrating into the attic above.   Fire companies used hose lines to contain the fire to the living area and attic area above the living area.

Fire companies remained on scene for approximately 3 hours checking for fire extension, completing overhaul and mop up operations. 6 residents were displaced by the fire, but made their own arrangements for temporary housing. There were no injuries to any of the firefighters or residents.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the North County Fire Prevention Services Bureau.

The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors in their homes.
