Structure Fire in Pacifica

On April 29, 2014 at approximately 10:18 a.m., 6 Fire Companies, 3 Chief Officers, 1 fire investigator and 1 Information Officer responded to a residential structure fire at 187 Eastridge in the City of Pacifica.

The first arriving fire company reported smoke and fire showing from the first floor bedroom of the single family residence. Fire companies made entry into the home and conducted search and rescue operations, while at the same time using hose lines quickly extinguished the fire.  All occupants were accounted for and safely exited the home without injury. The fire was contained to the bedroom, with smoke and heat damage throughout the rest of the home.

There were no injuries to civilians of firefighters.  Firefighters remained on scene for approximately two hours completing salvage and overhaul operations. 6 residents were displaced by the fire and received housing assistance by the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the North County Fire Authority Fire Prevention Services Bureau. The North County Fire Authority wants to remind everyone of the importance of installing and maintaining smoke detectors.
