Single Alarm Structure Fire- Daly City

On June 15, 2012 at 10:30 a.m., 6 Fire Companies and 2 Chief Officers responded to a structure fire in an apartment at 150 Coronado Avenue inDaly City.

Fire crews gained access to the apartment unit and found heavy smoke throughout.  Firefighters extinguished the fire, which originated in the kitchen area. There was extensive heat damage and smoke damage throughout the rest of the unit. The fire was extinguished quickly and fire companies remained on scene for over an hour completing overhaul.  Firefighter/paramedics treated at the scene one resident of the apartment unit for minor smoke inhalation. The resident was then transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

Westlake Apartments management and security was on scene to provide relocation assistance to the occupants of the unit.

The North County Fire Authority wants to remind residents to always have working smoke detectors and a fire extinguisher available in the home.
