Single Alarm Commercial Structure Fire in Daly City

On January 7, 2012 at 8:01 am, 6 Fire Companies, 2 Chief Officers and 1 Fire Investigator responded to a report of a structure fire at the Lucky’s grocery store located at 6843 Mission Street in Daly City.

The first arriving fire company reported smoke and flames showing from the rear of commercial structure. Firefighters gained access to the building and utilizing hose lines quickly extinguished the fire which was contained to the area of origin. Everyone in the store at the time of the fire was safely evacuated and there were no injuries involved.

Firefighters remained on scene for approximately 2 hours completing overhaul including ventilating the building of smoke. The fire is currently under investigation by Fire Prevention Bureau and this highlights the importance of automatic sprinklers, as well as the proper on-going inspections and maintenance of these types of protection systems.
